Another “Enduro”win for Marc Flood and team-mate Louis-Charles Filiatrault!
Marc Flood dominates once again and wins his second championship of 2005!

Montreal, Canada-October 1, 2005. The annual endurance race took place at S.R.A and this year Marc teamed up with the winner of the Coupe de Montreal championship Louis-Charles Filiatrault and between them they completely eclipsed their opposition in spite of their decision to run only as a pair where most of the other teams had three drivers.

Grid Positions:
For this event grid positions are determined by the luck of the draw. The Flood/ Filiatrault team drew 6th but were unconcerned given the length of the race (one hour). Their strategy was to each do a 30 minute shift with Marc doing the first shift.

Race:
Given that usually there are 3 drivers per team due to the exhausting nature of the event the rules dictate that there still have to be 2 pit stops. Those teams running only 2 drivers have to simulate a 3rd driver change therefore. It was decided then that Marc would enter the pits after the very first lap, get out of his machine and then re-embark thus getting the first of the mandatory 2 pit stops out of the way. The plan meant that for the first portion of the race the Flood/Filiatrault team fell to last place. After 15 minutes of hard driving and pit stops on the part of the other teams, the Flood/Filiatrault pairing was firmly in first place. At the mid-way mark Flood pitted for the only “real” driver change. The machine was re-fueled, tire pressures adjusted as well as some basic maintenance (all performed in less than 30 seconds) and Filiatrault was on his way for his driving shift. Other than some minor contact while passing a back marker, Filiatrault drove impeccably and showed why he too, like Marc, is an I.C.C karting champion. At the end of the race the Flood/Filiatrault team crossed the finish line with at least a 2 lap advantage over the second place finishers. This is the 4th time that Marc has won this annual event. The final result could not have been a more satisfying way to end the Canadian karting season. Marc and Louis-Charles are great friends and for them to each win a championship this season and then win the final endurance race together gives a nice symmetry to their respective seasons.

Next Weekend:
Marc will be testing a formula car at the Sanair race track. This is a free test that he has earned as a result of winning the prestigious Coupe de l’Est Championship in the I.C.C shifter class.

October 14-16:
Marc finds himself back in the States for final race of the Stars of Karting championship being held in Austin, Texas.
