Marc Flood tries a formula car on for size
Montreal, Canada-October 1, 2005. After winning the Eastern Cup (Coupe de l’Est) Marc flood was generously offered yet another free trial in a fully race prepared Formula Ford.
Difficult Weather Conditions:
In spite of pouring rain for most of the day Marc took the track and spent the majority of the day putting in fast laps around the Sanair race track located not far from Montreal. Thanks to the generous support of Louis Morin and his front-running Multi-Prêts team Marc found the experience to be a real thrill and this trial further expands his options for the coming 2006 season. Marc was assisted throughout the event by Philippe Gélinas who is an acknowledged star in this category and is the team’s regular driver. In spite of not having driven a formula car for over a year, Marc immediately felt comfortable and started posting competitive times with no incidents in spite of the treacherous conditions.
As most people in racing know, who knows what this may lead to? The plan next year is to concentrate on the “Stars of Karting” series. This championship has a very steep learning curve and requires at least 2-3 seasons to become a regular front runner but, just maybe, the odd Formula Ford race thrown might be a genuine possibility.
In the meantime the 2005 season is not yet quite over and the final round of the “Stars of Karting” series takes place this weekend in Austin, Texas. We are all hoping that we can continue our forward progress and end the year on a positive note.
